guess what...

We've been keeping a little secret around these parts.
Our first little one is on his or her way!! Due 9th March 2015 !!!
All I can say is God has blessed us so much with this little one and by such an amazingly easy and wonderful start to pregnancy. Feeling blessed, excited, nervous and just a little bit sleepy all at once ;)

Hopefully this means you will be seeing much more of me around these parts as I begin to document our life as a family of THREE!

roll out those lazy hazy crazy days of summer

One of our goals this summer is to enjoy all that this season has to offer - eating that fresh cold summer fruit, jumping in the pool, running around barefoot, sipping cool drinks with fancy straws and spending some lazy hazy days at the beach. Because sometimes, we just get so busy with life and sometimes, well sometimes we just forget! We are so very lucky to live close to some of the very best beaches here on the Coast and I really feel like we should take advantage of that more often. Saturday was just one of those perfect lazy hazy blissful days of summer. Cue this song and sweet memories of my grandpa playing the Nat King Cole version many times through my childhood :) It started off with a slight sleep in (mmmm) and brunch at a seaside cafe with Morgan's sister Paige (all I can say is chilli jam -wow!) and then lots of girl time shop browsing (we didn't buy anything) of some really cute and creative stores at our seaside town of Terrigal. Then home to float around in the pool and enjoy a fresh lunch outside with my in laws. That afternoon we decided to head down to Towoon Bay with snacks in hand to spend a lazy afternoon swimming eating and spending time with friends. It was perfect. Paige and I made Katie's apple, ginger and cranberry cocktail to take down with us and I also made a prawn salsa. Our friends Luke and Katty bought some super yummy imported cheese. It was simply blissful. What are some of your most favourite summer-to-dos?

year two

We finally got around to taking our yearly anniversary photos this afternoon - hooray for us, even if we are 2 months late! Each year on (or around) our anniversary we do a little photo shoot which I print out and put in our anniversary album with hand written notes and memories from that year.  I can't wait to see this album evolve and see how we change and grow together through the years - adding baby bumps and a long line of little ones behind us too ;)

and some outtakes because if you know us, you know that we are mostly silly ...

and because I never did post them last year, but want to record them here in this spot - here is a little snapshot of last years anniversary pictures. Year One...

a letter for 2013

cute card found here

Dear 2013,

Right now you are exactly 17 hours 7 minutes and 53 seconds old. You are new and fresh and kinda exciting and I think you are going to be a big year for us Aylings. And before you go there - no we're not pregnant! (We've been having to specify that a lot lately...) but we do have exciting plans in the works which I hope to record down here in this old faithful (albeit forgotten) spot.

It's still a fresh relationship, the one that you and I share. But so far you've been pretty good to us and I even have a favourite memory: your wee morning hours where Mr A and I laid snuggled in our bed  and prayed over you. Where we dedicated you back to God and asked that he would bless you to us and that you would bring with you above all else growth and a stronger desire for the one who bought you into our lives. Cause that would make a pretty good year.

Here's to you 2013 - I hope we stay good friends till the end!

with love,
kt
