I'm in!

As of 23 February 2009 I will be studying Interior Design here:

and here:
(yes that is beautiful Sydney Harbour and the Opera House.)

From some of my previous posts you may know that I am currently working in a law firm as a Legal Secretary dealing with mainly criminal and family law. Coming from quite a sheltered upbringing it has been so eye opening to see the pain and hurt that there is in the world and the cruelty of humans to other humans and too often it is so very sad... It has changed me, brought me to be more compassionate to other people, not to judge a book by its cover and shown me how important sharing the good news of Christ's love is but I know this is not what I was made to do. Being a creative person I find this work mundane and uninspiring to say the least. With the law everything must be done by the book and set out just so. But for over a year I have stuck with it because well, this was my goal. I'm also excited that i will no longer be staring at a blank white wall all day everyday, typing away and drafting up all those forms :)

Today I was so excited to come home and find my acceptance letter in the mail.
For the last 17 months I have been working and saving up for this goal and I can't believe it's finally here!

It's crazy to think that I actually know that this is I want to do with my life (well part of it!) and crazy to see that it's all coming together!

Design school here I come! :D

  1. CONGRATS!!! That is a b.e.a.t.i.f.u.l. school. This might sound stupid bc I know nothing of Australia geography, but is it close to you? Will you have to move?

  2. CONGRATS KT.. ohhh so exciting, I think you will do fantastic really, can't wait to keep reading all about it...

ohhhhhh yeah. I want to do a dance with you. It does pay off to work so hard for these goals...

  3. Hooray, hooray, hooray! Congratulations, dear friend!!!

  4. Wow! This is so exciting KT...I am so, so happy for you...and cannot wait to see where this takes you...hopefully you learn lots and lots and have so much fun while doing it...I would consider you my dear, to be nothing short of a creative genius and so happy to hear you are going to be able to pursue something you love!!!

  5. I am so utterly excited for you! How wonderful is it to see your dreams unfold right before your eyes and in the most beautiful of places!!! I bet you are just twirling with joy as I am for you! Can't wait to hear more about this exciting chapter in your life
so much love and congradulations to you!

  6. oh hun i am so happy for you! huge massive congraulations!! so proud of you:)

  7. Wow!! Big congratulations to you!! That sounds like a ton of fun. I hope your new field of study will be really refreshing for you. When do you start?

We have a family friend who used to work in family law. She had to change jobs in the end, especially when she'd start to run into client's families in the local supermarket or whatever... was far too stressful making decisions about people's lives like that. So hmm.. can totally understand why it's not a fun place to be.

  8. I loved this post. For so many reasons... Obviously THRILLED to the max for you. :) Also, it just shows so much of your beautiful character. Learning from what you have been doing at the law firm, grasping to a dream, excited for all the future is to hold. :) Sweet and thrilling!
    SO happy KT!

  9. Wooo-hooo! That is SOOOO exciting! I can live vicariously through you. ;)
